Stockbridge
A five minute drive from King’s Somborne, or a short cycle ride away, the town of Stockbridge is set amongst period buildings and picturesque thatched cottages. The water meadows (pictured), Stockbridge Downs and beautiful woodland make an idyllic backdrop to your country walk (or your cream tea). The area is rich in history, there were settlements on Stockbridge Down from at least 2000 BC; nearby are the impressive earthworks at Danebury, Meon Hill and Woolbury.

And as if that isn’t enough to persuade you to take a visit, Stockbridge officially has the best food in the country! In March 2010 this small town high street was voted as the best ‘foodie street’ in Britain in the Google Street View Awards.
